Decorex 2012

 Fifty Shades Of Silver!

This was one of the first tiebacks I designed and made for Spina, it's made with a mixture of silver plated and metallic beads, chain and metallic silk. It was first shown at our biggest trade show Decorex at Chelsea Royal Hospital.

This was the collection we predominantly launched at the show called our 'Ethnic Chic Collection'
this incorporates a lot of semi-precious stones and wood and horn beads.
The collection consists of a cushion, tiebacks, a footstool and a chandelier and a beaded curtain.

Spina's Zurich Installation

In July 2012 Me and the design team got to travel to Zurich to install some of our signature luxury chandeliers. Here are some images of the finished product.

Spina Design Harrods Christmas Windows

During my internship we started designing and making some decorations which were to be showcased in the Harrods christmas windows.
We have been involved in making the 11 small bright colourful ones which are shown below.
The first picture here is of some christmas trees that I designed and made myself and Spina have told me this year they want them to create their christmas card this year which I'm quite proud of as they've chosen it represents Spina well.
After doing a 3 month internship with them, they have hired me as assistant designer full time :)
watch this space for some more cool projects I can get involved with!

Internship With Spina

http://www.spinadesign.co.uk/

Since finishing my degree at Central Saint Martins, I have spent the last few months working for a luxury interior design company called Spina.
Spina approached me after coming to our degree show and I've had a very packed and exciting few months there so far.

Firstly I've been working on the production and design team, making bespoke lighting, curtain tie backs, footstools and other interior accessories.
Not only that but I've been involved this week in setting up and taking part in a yearly interior trade show called Decorex. Here are a few examples of what I've been making.

This year was Spina's 10th Birthday and in honour of this anniversary Spina set up a charity auction for 'kids first company'. The charity helps underprivileged children in London and to raise money Spina sent 32 plain white tassels to celebrities for them to customise. celebrities such as Nicky Clarke, Eliza Doolittle, Dita Von Teese, Kelly Hoppen and Nina Campbell were among the artists who took part.
I had the privilege to be part of the team to compose and set up the auction space as well as attending the auction.

Finally Spina are doing 11 windows for Harrods christmas display this year. As an intern it is a huge opportunity for me as I have been allocated 2 windows to design, make and manage. This is what I'll be working on in my last month as an intern at Spina. Watch this space for pictures and from the end of October you'll be able to go and see them at Harrods!

Final Collection 2011

Description of collection:

This collection is focussed on and inspired by native tribal armour, predominantly from Mayan and Aztec warriors of Mexico. The collection shows a modern take on their form of protection and collaborates it with a more contemporary style of armour.

With a strong detail to construction the collection centres on movement and interaction whilst exploring contrasting materials and the juxtaposing qualities of hard and soft, man made and organic.

The collection consists of a mixture of larger fashion orientated pieces and more commercial, accessible and precious forms of jewellery. I look to create impact with my jewellery and in the form of chain mail my attention to detail has led to an intricate, eye catching and intriguing collection.
