Work 2009/10

Newest work:
Cool Diamonds
This is a project sponsored by Cool Diamonds and will run in a competition between our class. This piece is using chain mail as its a new technique I am interested in working with.

This was a piece made for a catwalk at our end of term show. It's based on 'Swansong' and is made from pheasant feathers.

This piece was an experimental project with materials. It is predominantly made from tin plate.
Inspired by european armour and constructed with rivets.

This next ring is a piece I made to represent the 'Value of marriage'
The main stone in this piece was simply a stone I found on the street, I shaped it to a silhouette of a diamond. Also there is a very small stone at the bottom of the ring which represents the real diamond. I'm playing around and looking at materialistic values, is the ring really the main importance to getting engaged?

My next assignment was to make 30 pieces, which were all different but held the same theme.
My collection was looking at manipulation of heat. The pieces show decaying of metal and the burning of feathers. I'm pleased with the results if these and the manipulation created some very interesting forms.

Finally, this is an extension from my previous collection. It's a collection of 30 identical silver plated rings. These have been etched to portray the theme of decay from the previous collection which created the feather like qualities to the metal. These pieces are currently on sale on 42 Theobalds road in london to raise funds for our final degree show.
